Mapping & Embroidery  workshops

at Darna’s Women’s House, Tangier, Morocco, 2026

In Tangier, Morocco, I organized and facilitated a series of mapping and embroidery workshops with women at Darna's Women's House, exploring the tactics women use to feel more confident and present in public space.

These workshops are part of my ongoing artistic research project examining healing processes for people affected by gender-based violence in public space, and developing practices that help them reclaim their presence there.

Building on an earlier phase, I observed both similarities and differences in how the work unfolded across these distinct cultural and social contexts, an inquiry that also led to the booklet What Makes Us Women?, connecting these experiences to raise awareness of gender-based violence in public space.

Talisman of the Earth

Social Engaged Workshop/
In the context of the yearlong Programme: Show me your place, Anafi 2025-2026

The children of Anafi are invited on a creative journey around the island, through walks, observation of nature, play, and storytelling. Together we collected small objects and natural elements that captured our attention. We explored the concept of the talismant, both as an object of protection and as a means of artistic storytelling.

Using the materials we gathered, along with natural binding elements, the children created individual or group of talisman for Anafi. We learned how these connect with memories, emotions, and our imagination. We gifted these talismna back to the island.

The focus of the work is to support children and young people with access barriers in taking up a leisure activity.

To this end we work together with schools, youth welfare offices, refugee accommodation centres and Berlin children's hospitals.

Since 2012, the association has also organised its own art, sports and social space projects, particularly in the Neukölln district.
